In 2025, 64,000 BMW cars were imported to Russia, which is 44% more than the year before. Imports of new cars increased by a third (+34%) to 18,000 units, and imports of used cars increased by 1.5 times (+49%) to 46,000 units, according to Sergey Tselikov, head of the analytical agency "Autostat".
The share of new Chinese-assembled BMWs is more than 40%, and among used cars - less than 10%. The main volume of cars was produced in Germany.
Almost 99% of new BMW cars imported in 2025 had a power of over 160 hp. The share of powerful used BMW cars is also quite high - 80%. Therefore, the new recycling fee rules will greatly affect the import of this brand.
The main transit destinations for importing new cars were Kyrgyzstan (31.8%) and Belarus (23.1%). At the same time, about half of used BMWs (48%) were imported from South Korea.
