Premium brand Genesis has announced a large-scale recall campaign in the North American market. The company is recalling 83,877 vehicles in which digital screens may turn off while driving.
The recall includes the G80, electrified G80, GV60, GV70, electrified GV70, and GV80 models manufactured in 2025–2026. These cars are also present on the Russian market, but there is no recall campaign in the Russian Federation, as Genesis left the country in 2022. The brand's cars sold in Russia are supplied through parallel imports.
According to regulatory documents, the problem is related to a software glitch in the multimedia complex memory system. The error causes periodic reboots of the digital dashboard and infotainment system.
During the failure, drivers temporarily lose access to speedometer readings, fuel level, engine temperature, and navigation. This can create risks when driving at high speed.
Genesis reported 237 complaints received from September 26, 2024, to January 2, 2026. Owners complained about the sudden shutdown of screens without warning.
The company began implementing corrected software in the production process on November 26, 2025. Owners of previously manufactured vehicles will be offered a free update at dealerships.
