The third generation of the Renault Duster crossover has officially debuted in India, where the model was only presented in its first generation. After many years of absence, the Duster returns to the local market with a number of unique design solutions: new optics with daytime running lights in the shape of "eyebrows", a massive silver overlay on the bumper, large wheel arches and an LED strip that combines the rear lights. Externally, the car is close to the global Turkish version, but at the same time it received an individual look for the Indian market.
The interior of the new Duster has also undergone changes. The center console and steering wheel differ from the Turkish version, and the main innovation is a huge digital "cockpit" with two 10-inch displays: one for the instrument panel, the other for the OpenR multimedia system with Google Maps, Google Assistant and support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Top-end configurations include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, wireless charging and an electric tailgate.
Under the hood of the Indian Duster are three gasoline engines: a basic 1.0-liter turbo engine with 100 hp, a 1.3-liter turbo with 163 hp, and a hybrid system with a 109-horsepower gasoline engine and a 49-horsepower electric motor, totaling 160 hp. All versions are equipped with modern ADAS Level 2 safety systems, at least six airbags, all-round visibility and tire pressure monitoring. The crossover will be produced at the Renault plant in Chennai, which also produces Nissan cars.
