Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is no longer bedridden and moves around in a wheelchair. This was reported by the Daily Mail, citing sources informed about the athlete's condition.
According to the publication, more than 12 years after the severe head injury he sustained while skiing in Meribel in the French Alps, 57-year-old Schumacher lives in his home in Mallorca and remains under round-the-clock medical supervision. At the same time, it is emphasized that he cannot move independently and uses a wheelchair.
One of the publication's anonymous sources noted that it is impossible to say with certainty how fully Schumacher is aware of what is happening around him, since he cannot communicate or tell anything. According to the source, the impression is that the racer understands part of what is happening, but probably not all of it.
Contact with Michael Schumacher is strictly limited. He can be seen only by a few people, including his wife Corinna, former Ferrari chief Jean Todt, and a narrow circle of trusted individuals. The publication also notes that rumors about Schumacher being present at his daughter's wedding in 2024 are not true.
