Russia ranked 15th in the European gasoline affordability rating, finding itself below many countries that do not extract oil. The rating was compiled by experts at RIA Novosti based on official statistics, assessing the amount of gasoline that can be purchased with an average monthly salary.
Fuel affordability was calculated taking into account not only gasoline prices, but also the level of income of the population. Luxembourg became the leader of the rating: thanks to high salaries and relatively moderate prices, residents of the country can purchase almost 3000 liters of gasoline for the average monthly income.
The second place was taken by Great Britain, where you can buy about 2400 liters of fuel for a salary. The top five also included Austria, Sweden and Ireland - in these countries, the average income allows you to purchase more than 2200 liters of gasoline.
Russia is located on the 15th line of the rating, between Spain and Italy. You can buy 1285 liters of AI-95 gasoline for the average salary in the country.
When comparing prices without taking into account income, the lowest cost of AI-95 gasoline among the countries of the rating was recorded in Kazakhstan - 45.9 rubles per liter. The second place was taken by Russia with an average price of 67.5 rubles per liter, the third - Belarus, where gasoline costs about 70 rubles per liter.
