Employees of the Minsk Tractor Works conducted an extreme test of the Belarus 1222.3 tractor. During the test, the flagship MTZ model was doused with cold water from a hose for an extended period. As a result, the tractor ended up covered with a thick and durable layer of ice, including the cab and exterior elements. The test was carried out by the plant's specialists.
After icing over, the tractor driver opened the cab door and attempted to start the engine. The D-260.2S3A diesel engine rated at 136 hp, produced by the Minsk Motor Plant, started without difficulty. It was precisely the verification of cold starting in extreme conditions that was the main objective of the test.
The Belarus 1222.3 is a modernized version of one of the plant's most mass-produced and recognizable models, the "Belarus-1221.3." This tractor is widely known and operated in various climate zones, and the updated version received more modern equipment while retaining the basic design.
