Pickup market lost a third of its volume in a year

Demand decreased for Great Wall, JAC, and UAZ

In 2025, pickup sales in Russia decreased to 22,010 vehicles, despite the segment's growth the year before and the absence of some restrictions related to the recycling fee for them.

In 2024, the pickup market in Russia grew to 29,223 vehicles, with a share of 1.8% of the 1.5-million-vehicle market. However, in 2025, demand declined: sales decreased to 22,010 units, and the segment's share hardly changed, amounting to 1.6% against the backdrop of an overall market decline.

The most noticeable decline was shown by Great Wall, which is represented in Russia only by pickups. Sales of the brand fell from 6,887 vehicles in 2024 to 3,600 in 2025. About half of the volume came from Chinese-made cars from 2025.

JAC reduced pickup sales from 5,968 to 4,964 vehicles. In 2025, only the T9 model was imported, while 237 T9 pickups were assembled at the Far Eastern plant "Automobile Industrial Technologies." The T9 accounted for 3,495 sales, while the T6 and T8/T8 Pro were sold from warehouses.

Sollers sold 2,718 pickups: 2,000 ST6, 607 ST8, and just over 100 ST9. Changan Hunter showed a result of 2,136 vehicles, of which only 252 were produced in 2025. Foton sold 1,522 Tunland, with only 185 vehicles being newly released.

UAZ registered 2,532 pickups out of less than 9,000 vehicles of the brand as a whole, with 1,736 being produced in 2025. Also, 1,892 RAM 1500 pickups, imported through alternative schemes, were sold in Russia.
