Bentley has unveiled a special version of the Bentley Bentayga in Japan — the Mulliner Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection. The limited series is restricted to 10 units. The price in Japan starts from 34 million yen, or $219,400.
The project was prepared by the Mulliner atelier. The name Something Blue refers to the Victorian "Something Four" — a wedding tradition popular in Japan. According to it, the bride needs "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue" for good luck.
Under the hood is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 542 hp and 770 N·m in the range of 2000–4500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 290 km/h.
The body is painted in Ice White metallic. Under certain lighting, it gives a subtle blue tint. It features 22-inch silver wheels, and the brake calipers are painted in the body color.
In the interior, the blue theme is used sparingly. The backrests of the seats are embroidered with blue Bentley emblems. Blue floral motifs are placed on the dashboard. The rest of the trim is made in a combination of linen and graphite-gray shades. Gray is used on the steering wheel, the upper parts of the doors, the dashboard, and around the central unit with the multimedia screen. The sills are fitted with "Something Blue Collection" plates.
The premiere took place at Ooyane Plaza in Tokyo. Some of the ten cars have already been reserved.
