Renault has unveiled a special version of the Dacia Duster called Spirit of Sand. The series is dedicated to the victory of the Renault-Alpine team at the 2026 Dakar Rally in the car category. Nasser Al-Attiyah won the title in the Dacia Sandrider prototype.
The Dacia Duster Spirit of Sand is based on the top-spec Extreme version. The body is painted in a light gray Renault Sandstone color. The sides feature decals with a stuck-on mud effect. The mirror housings are finished in a polished copper shade. It features 17-inch black alloy wheels and aluminum engine and transmission protection panels. There are no differences from the Extreme trim in the cabin.
All cars are equipped with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline turbo engine with 138 hp and 230 N·m. A bi-fuel gasoline/LPG system with two 50-liter tanks is used. The installation includes a 48-volt starter-generator, a 30 hp and 87 N·m electric motor for the rear axle, and a 6-speed robotic gearbox.
The Dacia Duster Spirit of Sand will be produced in a limited edition of 500 units. All cars will be sold in Romania, where the Duster is produced for the European Union market.
