VinFast has unveiled two new executive-class electric vehicles: the VinFast Lac Hong 900S sedan and the VinFast Lac Hong 800S crossover. Mass production of the models is scheduled for 2027.
Both new products are built on a common platform and equipped with three electric motors with a total output of 625 hp. The overall length of the cars exceeds five meters, and the wheelbase is more than three meters.
The design of the models is made using smooth convex and concave shapes. Distinctive elements include a large radiator grille in the shape of a hexagonal shield and rear lights with vertical elements converging towards the center. Sculptures of the mythical Lac bird, the national symbol of Vietnam, are placed at the ends of the hood, and bas-reliefs of the same character adorn the rear pillars of the body. The crossover received chrome trim elements, while the sedan additionally uses gold plating.
The interiors of the cars are designed for the comfort of second-row passengers. The decoration uses natural leather, woolen fabric, red wood veneer, polished aluminum and gold plating. In the sedan, the rear of the cabin is separated by a partition, the upper half of which is occupied by a large information display.
Prices for the new models have not yet been announced. Previously, the company had already made an attempt to enter the segment of expensive cars: in 2017–2022, VinFast produced gasoline sedans and crossovers on a licensed BMW platform, but demand for them turned out to be limited even in the domestic market.
