Companies insist on maintaining cybersecurity standards approved by the US Department of Commerce in 2025. These rules restrict access to the American market for cars associated with Chinese companies.

The appeal emphasizes that risks remain even with local assembly. According to market participants, the connection of manufacturers with Chinese structures and supply chains creates security threats.

Particular attention is paid to the connected functions of cars. Industry representatives fear potential remote interference in car systems. At the same time, Chinese models remain more affordable and equipped, which increases competition.

The US has previously applied restrictions to protect the auto industry, including measures against Japanese and Korean manufacturers. Now the administration is considering the possibility of allowing Chinese cars, provided they are produced in the country.
