The Tesla Cybertruck Long Range RWD electric pickup, which has been in production for less than six months, has begun to rapidly depreciate on the secondary market. One 2025 model was sold for $56,500, compared to an original price of $69,990.
The model was initially positioned as a more affordable alternative to the all-wheel drive version, but Tesla abandoned a number of features in order to reduce the price.
The rear-wheel drive version lost its second electric motor, as well as the electric tailgate, 120/240 V outlets, and a premium audio system. Instead, a basic system with 7 speakers is installed. The interior uses fabric seats and there is no screen for rear passengers.
The reduction in characteristics also affected practicality. Towing capacity decreased from 4,989 to 3,401 kg, and payload capacity from 1,133 to 910 kg.
Even additional modifications, including body painting, running boards, and leather covers, did not increase buyer interest. With a mileage of 9,334 km, the car was sold significantly below its original cost.
At the same time, the model is equipped with a 123 kWh battery and has a range of up to 563 km according to the EPA standard. Despite this, the combination of rear-wheel drive and reduced capabilities limits the model's appeal.
