Toyota has started accepting orders for the electric Hilux pickup in Australia: the model has become the most expensive in the lineup. The electric version of the Toyota Hilux BEV appeared after the model transitioned to the ninth generation. The base SR version with a double cab is priced at 4.3 million rubles, which is approximately 950 thousand rubles more expensive than the hybrid version with an automatic transmission.
The top-end SR5 trim costs 4.6 million rubles, making the electric pickup the most expensive Hilux option. For comparison, the base diesel pickup with a manual transmission will cost approximately 3.15 million rubles.
The model is equipped with a two-motor powertrain with a capacity of 196 hp and a torque of 468 Nm. The drive is all-wheel drive, and six modes of the Multi-Terrain Select system are available.
A 59.2 kWh battery provides a range of 245 to 315 km according to the NEDC cycle. Fast charging from 10 to 80% takes about 30 minutes.
The company is counting on demand from corporate clients, including construction and mining companies. Production of the model has been established in Thailand, and in the future it is planned to bring it to the markets of Europe, Japan, South Africa and Southeast Asia.
