Subaru has achieved a significant increase in demand for the WRX sports sedan after a massive price reduction and the return of the base trim. By the end of June 2026, sales of the model in the US increased by 252.3% compared to the same month last year.
In June, dealers sold 1,233 WRX vehicles compared to 350 units a year earlier. For the first six months, sales were also positive — 7,108 vehicles versus 6,431 for the same period in 2025, representing a 10.5% increase.
One of the main success factors was the return of the entry-level WRX version in January. Its starting price is now $32,495 (about 2.5 million rubles), which is $5,255 lower than the cost of the most affordable trim of the previous model year.
Although Subaru does not disclose sales structure by versions, it is likely that the affordable trim attracted many fans of the model. For some buyers, it became a convenient basis for further tuning, allowing them not to overpay for factory equipment that they planned to replace anyway.
June was also successful for other Subaru models. Outback sales increased by 32.7%, reaching 14,074 vehicles, although for the first half of the year, the model is still trailing last year's results by 14.1%.
Forester remains the brand's leader. In June, dealers sold 16,288 crossovers, which is 43.6% more than a year earlier. Another record was set by Crosstrek, showing its best June result in history — 16,050 vehicles sold.
Subaru also reported that the share of hybrid and electric models exceeded 20% of the brand's total sales in June.
