BYD announced the production of its 17-millionth new energy vehicle (NEV). The anniversary model was the new flagship sedan Seal 08, officially unveiled on July 2, 2026.
The new record is another confirmation of BYD's rapid growth in production volumes. The company crossed the 10 million NEV mark in November 2024, the 15-millionth vehicle was produced in December 2025, and the manufacturer reached the 16 million mark less than three months ago. BYD reached 17 million vehicles in even less than a quarter.
The Seal 08 has become one of the company's most technologically advanced models. The sedan is designed in the signature Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 style, featuring a closed front end, narrow LED headlights, and expressive hood contours.
The car is equipped with a lidar on the roof and the proprietary God's Eye B driver assistance system, which supports modern intelligent driving functions.
High demand for the Seal 08 and new production records confirm that BYD continues to strengthen its position as the world's largest manufacturer of new energy vehicles.
