Toyota has unveiled the updated 2027 model year Tundra pickup. The main novelty is the Trailhunter trim, aimed at off-road travel enthusiasts, as well as a modernized multimedia system and an expanded set of electronic driver assistance systems.

The new Trailhunter version is based on the SR5 trim and is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the top-tier TRD Pro. The vehicle received Michelin LTX Trail off-road tires, a modernized Old Man Emu suspension, front tow hooks, and additional underbody protection.

For off-road driving, the Multi-Terrain Select system, Crawl Control low-speed driving function, and a rear differential lock are provided. The new modification can be distinguished by its bronze wheels and signature Trailhunter decorative elements.

The exterior of the entire Tundra lineup has changed insignificantly. Designers adjusted the turn signal placement, slightly redesigned the grille and bumpers. In addition, the signature LED light bar installed in the grille has been improved, and RIGID fog lights have appeared in the options list.

Much more changes have occurred in the interior. Now, all versions of the pickup, even in the basic configuration, are equipped with a 14-inch multimedia screen with the latest Toyota software platform. The system supports AT&T 5G network connection, customizable widgets, and voice control using the "Hey Toyota" command.

An integrated Drive Recorder, using the vehicle's external cameras, has also become standard equipment. It can automatically or at the driver's command save 20-second video clips.

All trim levels now feature the updated Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 active safety system suite, which includes advanced electronic driver assistance systems.

The powertrain lineup remains unchanged. Buyers will still be offered a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine with 389 hp, as well as the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, developing 437 hp. The manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed which engine the Trailhunter version will receive, but it is expected to be equipped with the standard V6 gasoline engine.

The company promises to reveal detailed technical specifications and prices for the 2027 Toyota Tundra in the fall.
