The Chinese electric sports car SC-01 is preparing to enter the European market. Small Sports Car Company (SSCC) has obtained the right to import the model into the UK, positioning the novelty as "the car Lotus should have built."

The SC-01 was developed by Chinese engineer Feng Xiaotun, founder of China Car Custom. The car's design is inspired by the iconic Lancia Stratos, and the main goal of the creators was to preserve the classic philosophy of a lightweight sports coupe even after switching to an electric powertrain.

Despite having a traction battery, the car's weight is about 1,380 kg. For an electric car, this is a relatively small figure. The 60 kWh battery is located between the axles and behind the seats, providing a weight distribution close to mid-engine sports cars.

The powertrain includes two electric motors with a total output of 429 hp and 560 N·m of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 2.9 seconds.

Special attention is paid to handling. The SC-01 is built on an original space frame, equipped with manually adjustable suspension, and retains a traditional mechanical parking brake. The interior lacks a central touchscreen display, as well as modern advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) – a conscious decision made to maximize the feel of a classic sports car.

In the UK, the new car will cost about 50,000 pounds sterling (about 5.3 million rubles). In the first year, SSCC expects to sell about 160 cars, and by the third year, to increase sales to 360 cars annually.
