Nissan has expanded the American Kicks lineup with the Rock Creek version for the 2027 model year. It is based on the SV AWD trim and is the first modification of the model with a full set of off-road settings. The price is $30,385 (about 2.5 million rubles) including delivery.

The main changes are all-wheel drive and a new Off-Road mode. The electronics allow the wheels to slip more on loose surfaces, helping to maintain traction on gravel, sand, and snow. Additionally, a hill descent assist system has been added, which automatically maintains speed on steep sections.

The exterior has also changed. The Kicks Rock Creek received its own grille, black trim, amber daytime running lights, 17-inch wheels, and roof rails with crossbars. The latter are designed to carry cargo weighing up to 165 pounds, or about 75 kg. The interior features TailorFit seats, a heated steering wheel, and signature Rock Creek elements.

But no technical miracles happened. Under the hood, the atmospheric 2.0-liter engine with 141 hp remained, and the ground clearance remained at 8.4 inches – approximately 213 mm. There are no special all-terrain tires or reinforced underbody protection. Therefore, the Rock Creek is designed more for bad weather and light dirt roads than for serious off-roading.

However, Nissan has hit an interesting niche. For a sum of just over $30,000, the buyer gets a small crossover with all-wheel drive and additional electronics for slippery surfaces, without moving into a larger and more expensive class.
