MINI has unveiled the Cooper S Rooftop Edition – the fifth of eight special series prepared for the 25th anniversary of the modern MINI. The main feature of this version is an unusual take on the signature contrasting roof: the body's color accents are now literally inverted.

Buyers will be offered two shades – Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic and Melting Silver III Metallic. One color is used as the main body color, while the second is for the roof, mirror caps, and decorative elements. This results in four combinations for two body styles: the Cooper S with two and four doors.

There are almost no technical changes. Under the hood remains the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201 hp and 300 Nm. The equipment includes John Cooper Works sports seats, the Iconic Trim package with Comfort Package Plus, power-adjustable front seats, and other options.

The price is also known. The two-door Cooper S Rooftop Edition costs $39,995, while the four-door version is $40,995 (3.3 and 3.38 million rubles, respectively). An additional $1,595 (almost 132,000 rubles) will have to be paid for the Rooftop Edition package itself. Production will begin in September 2026, with deliveries to dealers expected from October.

Essentially, MINI is demonstrating an interesting way to create a special series without significant technical upgrades: instead of a new engine, the car's visual code is changed. For a collector's edition, this is more important than additional power – the buyer gets a car that is easily distinguishable from a regular Cooper S.
