The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance set a new Guinness record for production cars for the longest distance traveled on a single charge. Miko Marczyk covered 1338 km, after which the car completely ran out of energy. The previous record belonged to the Lucid Air Grand Touring — 1205 km. 

The result is particularly notable against Audi's official figures: the A6 Sportback e-tron performance is rated for up to 777 km according to WLTP. During the record-breaking drive, the car traveled approximately 72% further than this value.

The secret to this result is not an enlarged battery, but extremely low energy consumption. Over the entire route, the average consumption was only 7.09 kWh/100 km. To achieve this, Marczyk used smooth accelerations, recuperation, and the most economical driving mode. The drive took place on ordinary roads, with part of the route occurring during rush hour.

The car itself is well-suited for such an experiment. Its battery has a usable capacity of 94.9 kWh, and the body's drag coefficient is only 0.21. Aerodynamics become especially important at high speeds: the less air resistance, the less energy is required to maintain movement.

The record does not mean that an ordinary owner will be able to drive 1338 km in everyday use. But it shows how much real consumption can differ from official figures with a specially optimized driving mode.
