Citroën has begun to reveal the appearance of the new 2CV, which will return to the brand's model lineup after more than 35 years. For now, the company is only showing individual elements of the future car, but it is already clear that it will be a fully electric city model.

The published teasers show a ribbed hood, semicircular LED headlights protruding above the fenders, retro door handles, and vertical turn signals on the rear pillars. The front end features an illuminated double chevron logo. The design clearly harks back to the original 2CV, but technically the new car will be modern.

Initially, the car will be shown as a concept. The premiere will take place on October 12 at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from October 12 to 18. Citroën promises to make the new 2CV simple, affordable, and focused on urban mobility.

The company previously officially confirmed that the production model should appear in 2028. However, specific data on the battery, power, range, and platform have not yet been disclosed. Therefore, the technical characteristics of the future 2CV circulating in the media cannot yet be considered final.

The most remarkable part of the project is the price. Citroën positions the car as an affordable electric vehicle and previously named a target of around 15,000 euros (1.4 million rubles) including potential subsidies. This is significantly lower than the current level of most new European electric vehicles.

If Citroën truly maintains this cost, the new 2CV will become more than just a retro model. The company is trying to use a well-known name to create a compact electric car that should make electric mobility more accessible.
