Tesla continues to reduce the equipment of the most affordable Model 3. In Australia, the base version of the sedan is now delivered without built-in FM and DAB+ radio tuners. The more expensive Model 3 Premium RWD retains both radio reception options.

The Australian Model 3 RWD costs from 45,900 Australian dollars (about 2.7 million rubles), which is approximately 9,000 dollars less than the Premium RWD version. In addition to the radio, the base trim level features a number of other simplifications aimed at reducing the car's cost.
In the US, Tesla took such a step when launching the affordable Model 3 in late 2025. The American base version lost traditional AM and FM, while more expensive modifications received more equipment.
Model 3 owners are not left completely without radio. TuneIn and other streaming services work in the multimedia system, but they require an internet connection to use. The car will not be able to receive a regular FM signal from a local radio station without a network.
