How the supposedly comfortable Lada Aura greatly tired the driver in just six months

The car, which was initially perceived as an interesting and even pleasant experiment, caused one of the drivers a persistent desire not to get behind the wheel after only six months.

The car exhausted the person who drove it at the end of spring, all summer, and the beginning of autumn. So much so that he didn't even want to remember it. This is rare for Drom's cars: in a short time, the Aura managed to leave perhaps the most negative impressions in the entire history of the editorial cars.

By the time of the last major trip to the next, third scheduled maintenance, there were about 2,000 km left. The maintenance coincided with service campaigns, including a software update designed to prevent steering lock - a problem that had already made Togliatti cars famous for the worse. At the same time, it became clear that Lada's warranty service had long ceased to be a "cheap pleasure": the bill for TO-3 at 45,000 km was 36,549 rubles, and the main part of the amount was the replacement of the variator fluid.

Additionally, questions arose about the brake system. The front discs and pads required replacement, and the pads had already been replaced earlier and were not factory-made. Their resource turned out to be lower than that of many budget "Chinese cars", although there are no serious complaints about the effectiveness of the brakes. In order not to get another set of dubious quality, the replacement had to be done outside the dealer network - fortunately, there is a choice of alternative parts for Lada.

Further operation only reinforced the feeling of unease. In the Caucasus, local drivers were surprised that no one had yet interfered with the chassis, and almost immediately after that, the rear hub bearing roared. Finding it at official dealers turned out to be a task with an asterisk: waiting, repeated diagnostics, refusal to take into account the conclusions of colleagues, and weeks of downtime. As a result, the car went to Moscow with a malfunction, and the cherished part "arrived" only a couple of weeks later.

But the main reason for parting with the Aura was not the variator or the bearings at all. The driver's health began to fail. First, pain appeared in the right leg after several hours behind the wheel, then in the back. Previously, such problems did not arise, and the coincidence with the operation of the Aura turned out to be too obvious. Perhaps it was the fatigue of the person himself, or perhaps the degradation of the seat fillers, which, over a relatively short mileage, ceased to provide normal support.

At the same time, the car also has obvious advantages. Outwardly, the Aura is almost indistinguishable from the Lada Vesta, the elongated body does not catch the eye and does not look clumsy. The LED headlights shine brightly and confidently, the suspension perfectly digests bad roads, and the sound insulation is noticeably better than that of a regular Vesta. The engine does not consume oil and consumes fuel very moderately.

But all this pales against the background of the main problem - the price. Almost 2.8 million rubles without growth in a year, large discounts of up to 550 thousand and modest sales only emphasize: the market votes with the ruble.
