According to a study by "Auto News of the Day," in January 2026, you can find cars ranging from 770 thousand to 1.7 million rubles. The list of the cheapest includes both compact city models, as well as SUVs and station wagons.

The most affordable car remains the Lada Granta sedan. In the basic version, the cost is 770,900 rubles. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter 90-horsepower naturally aspirated engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. Standard equipment includes power steering, front power windows, heated mirrors, and audio preparation.

In the SUV category, the leader in cheapness is the three-door Lada Niva Legend. Its basic configuration with a 1.7-liter 83-horsepower engine and a five-speed "mechanics" costs from 1,081,000 rubles. The car is equipped with power windows, ISOFIX mounts, 16-inch steel wheels, and factory audio preparation. The model will receive an update with a more powerful 90-horsepower engine.

The new Lada Iskra took third place in the ranking. The sedan starts from 1,277,000 rubles, the station wagon from 1,527,000, and the off-road version SW from 1,657,000 rubles. Basic equipment includes a 90-horsepower 1.7-liter engine, front airbags, ISOFIX mounts, daytime running lights, ABS with EBD, power steering, power windows, light and rain sensors, as well as 15-inch wheels.

The updated Lada Niva Travel is offered in two versions. The pre-reform version with a 1.7-liter 80-horsepower engine is estimated at 1,343,000 rubles, and the restyled model with a 1.8-liter 90-horsepower engine from 1,419,000 rubles. The basic equipment includes side mirrors with electric drive and heating, 15-inch steel wheels, and audio preparation. The next in the ranking were Lada Vesta and Lada Largus. The minimum price of the restyled Vesta sedan is 1,558,000 rubles, the basic version has front airbags, air conditioning, and side mirrors with heating. The Largus station wagon for five seats is available for 1,587,000 rubles. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter 90 hp engine, a mechanical gearbox, a front airbag, ABS with EBD, power windows, and air conditioning.

Livan X3 Pro costs from 1,669,900 rubles, it is equipped with a 1.5-liter 103-horsepower engine and a variator, the base includes a multi-steering wheel, rear parking sensors, front airbags, a DVR, keyless access, and a multimedia system.

UAZ "Hunter" with a 2.7-liter 150-horsepower engine and Part-time all-wheel drive costs 1,672,400 rubles, the basic equipment is minimal.

The ranking is completed by "Moskvich 3" with a 1.5-liter 136-horsepower turbo engine, a six-speed mechanics and a basic set of options for 1,729,000 rubles.

The list demonstrates that even in the context of increased prices in the Russian market, you can buy a new car for relatively little money.
