Volvo has released images of the XC70 plug-in hybrid SUV in four color options: "crystal white," "black agate," "mist gray," and "denim blue," as reported by IT Home on July 27, 2025. Pre-orders will open in August, and each color is inspired by Scandinavian nature: "crystal white" refers to polar glaciers, "black agate" to dark nights, "mist gray" to the dunes of Sweden, and "denim blue" to the midnight sky.
The model is built on the SMA platform with a powertrain that includes a 1.5-liter engine and a 120 kW electric motor. The dimensions are 4815×1890×1650 mm, with a wheelbase of 2895 mm. The design features "Thor's Hammer" LED headlights, a large black grille, hidden door handles, a sloping rear window, and C-shaped taillights integrated into the body. The car has already been registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The hybrid system supports the use of lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium-ion batteries, but their capacity has not yet been disclosed.
