Journalists from "Za Rulem" conducted a study of the Jatco JF015E CVT, which was removed from a 2020 Lada Vesta car, used as a taxi.
Despite the car's high mileage, the condition of the unit was surprisingly good. At the same time, the oil was changed only once when the mileage reached 130 thousand km.
The bearings and seating surfaces had no visible damage, the cones required only minor polishing, and the belt, although it had lost some of its notches, remained in working order. The reduction valve and oil pump also showed no signs of any malfunction.
According to experts, such a long service life of the CVT is due to careful operation of the car - the driver avoided sudden accelerations, long trips at high engine speeds, and towing other vehicles.
If these recommendations are followed, the JF015E's lifespan can reach 250-350 thousand kilometers.
