The reduction of the key rate by the Bank of Russia from 21 to 18% during 2025 has not yet had a significant impact on the automotive market, said Sergey Gromak, Vice President of AvtoVAZ for External Relations and Interaction with Shareholders.
Currently, as Gromak noted, AvtoVAZ is discussing the budget and plans for 2026. At the same time, next year is projected to see an increase in consumer activity and the accumulation of pent-up demand, and the key rate will decrease.
Not so long ago, there was a slight decrease in the key rate. So far, this has not affected the market - we need to look at a longer-term perspective. The situation is too volatile, it is difficult to make predictions now.
At the same time, other analysts expressed pessimistic forecasts for the market, said the representative of AvtoVAZ. In general, the Russian car market "does not inspire optimism yet," Gromak concluded.
