Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) will begin the first stages of assembling and producing Volga cars by the spring of 2026, according to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
The Deputy Head of the Russian Government did not comment on the possibility of attracting a Chinese partner to this project.

Earlier, unofficial information appeared on the Web that GAZ is developing the new Volga projectin cooperation with the Chinese company Geely.
Allegedly, a Volga office will open in Moscow in the near future, where employees are being recruited, and the official presentation of the project is expected soon.
