The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, announced that the Chinese premium car brand Lixiang may officially appear on the Russian market before the end of this year. According to him, in 2024, almost 23,000 cars of the brand were imported into the Russian Federation through parallel imports.
Unfortunately, they do not service cars in the country, that is, there is no normal service, no normal updates. And we agreed with them that they would come with vehicle type approval, go through all the necessary procedures, open dealerships, and we asked them to service those cars that were imported by individuals and legal entities individually earlier, so that our consumers who are already using these cars receive normal service and normal maintenance, because it is very much tied to software there
Anton Alikhanov also announced that the brand's appearance on the Russian market has already been officially discussed, with plans for autumn 2025. Therefore, according to him, all issues should be resolved and permits obtained from NAMI by the end of the year.
In August, Alikhanov flew to China on a working trip, during which he visited the Li Auto plant, where he tested the new Lixiang Mega electric minivan model. The Ministry of Industry and Trade then announced that the model was being prepared for release on the Russian market.
