Chery presents the updated Tiggo 9 family

Chinese manufacturer Chery has announced an expanded range of Tiggo 9 mid-size crossovers in China, including the updated 2025 Tiggo 9 model, the compact Tiggo 9X, and the Tiggo 9 C-DM plug-in hybrid. In anticipation of China's National Day, preferential rates are in effect, reducing the starting price of the Tiggo 9X to US$17,900.

The updated Tiggo 9 retains its familiar silhouette, focusing changes on the trim levels. The vehicle, with dimensions of 4820×1930×1712 mm and a wheelbase of 2820 mm, is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 192 kW and 400 N·m, paired with a seven-speed DCT or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Among the five versions, the mid-range Yaoxiang stands out with CDC adaptive suspension, Bluetooth key, 12-channel audio system, and purple interior. The seven-seat cabin features a 24.6-inch dual screen and AR-HUD.

The Tiggo 9 C-DM hybrid uses the Kunpeng C-DM platform: a 1.5-liter engine (115 kW, 220 N·m) plus a front electric motor (165 kW, 390 N·m) with a 19.43 kWh battery and a three-speed DHT. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 8.8 seconds, electric range per CLTC is 106 km, and total WLTC range is over 1400 km. Charging from 30 to 80% takes 25 minutes, and a full charge takes 3.5 hours.

The Tiggo 9X is 50 mm shorter, with a redesigned bumper, minimalist interior, Snapdragon 8255, 14 speakers, and Falcon 500 assistant. Its 2.0-liter turbo engine produces 187 kW and 390 N·m with an optional all-wheel drive. In August, 2920 units of the Tiggo 9 were sold, strengthening its position in the segment.
