Paid parking in the Moscow region will increase 7 times

There will be 10,000 spaces in 2025, and expansion to 30,000 is planned for 2026

The authorities of the Moscow region are preparing a large-scale expansion of the paid parking system. According to the regional Minister of Transport Marat Sibatulin in an interview with the Moscow Online publication, by 2026 the number of parking spaces for cars will increase to 30 thousand. Now there are many times fewer of them - about 3.8 thousand in 23 cities of the Moscow region.

Plans for the next two years

According to the official, by the end of 2025 the network will cover 10 thousand places, and by the next year the figure will triple. The first paid places in the region began operating on November 1, 2024. Pilot zones were organized at the House of Government and the regional court in Krasnogorsk, as well as on the central streets of Reutov, Vidnoye and Korolev.

Sibatulin explained that the task of the project is to bring order to the streets. According to him, paid parking disciplines drivers, removes abandoned cars from roadsides and frees up space from commercial transport. As a result, residents will be able to easily find a place near the desired address, and street traffic will become freer.

The collected funds will remain in municipal budgets. Cities will direct them to repair, maintain roads and improve territories.
