"The Chinese are no longer liked"? Russia expects a collapse in sales of cars from China

Expert Alexander Kornev predicts a decrease in sales of new Chinese passenger cars in Russia in 2025.

According to the head of the department for working with importers of Gazprombank Autoleasing, sales may fall to 700 thousand units, which is 25% less than in 2024.

The total volume of sales of new passenger cars on the Russian market this year, according to the forecast, will be about 1.3 million units.

In the first three quarters of 2025, sales of Chinese cars have already decreased by 29%, while their market share is 54%.

He expressed hope that the sales growth trend observed since August will continue until the end of autumn.

At the same time, the expert warned that many ambitious plans of Chinese automakers are unlikely to be fulfilled by 30-35%.

According to experts, by the end of the year, the repair of Chinese cars in Russia may double in price.
