A fine and license revocation are not provided for drivers who are drunk behind the wheel but are not driving the vehicle. This was stated by the Vice President of the Motorists Movement, Honorary Lawyer of Russia Leonid Olshansky.
According to him, as soon as the car stopped, it moved from the category of administrative law to the category of civil law.
That is, you and I can get drunk in the car while it is standing. Punishment comes for driving a car while intoxicated.
As a reminder, from January 1, 2025, the fine for driving a vehicle while intoxicated increased from 30 thousand to 45 thousand rubles.
The accompanying punishment in the form of deprivation of a driver's license for up to two years remained unchanged.
