BYD has marked a new production milestone - the production of 100,000 Sealion 06 crossovers in just 100 days. The model, which was released on July 24, 2025, replaced the previous Sealion 6 and became BYD's fastest-produced car in all segments.
The Sealion 06, part of the brand's "ocean" line, costs from 139,800 to 163,800 yuan (US$19,300-22,620) and is offered in both fully electric and hybrid versions. The model's dimensions are 4810 × 1920 × 1675 mm, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. The exterior is designed in the signature Ocean Series style with a closed front panel, split headlights, a wave-shaped LED strip at the rear, and recessed door handles.
The electric version is built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and is available with 400- and 800-volt architecture. The junior modification is equipped with a 65.28 kWh battery (170 kW motor, 330 N·m) and a range of 520 km according to CLTC. The senior one - 78.72 kWh, 180 kW and 605 km range on a single charge, supporting charging power up to 237 kW.
The hybrid version uses the fifth-generation DM-i system: a 1.5-liter gasoline ICE (74 kW, 126 N·m) and a 160 kW electric motor. Battery capacity ranges from 18.3 to 26.6 kWh, with an electric range of 121-170 km and a combined range of up to 1670 km.
Standard equipment includes the God's Eye intelligent system, seven airbags, more than 30 active safety systems, a digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch "floating" screen, front seat ventilation, and a 1.73 m² panoramic roof. The trunk volume is up to 1630 liters with the seats folded down.
