In October 2025, Russians bought a record number of electric vehicles - 1,614 units. According to the Avtostat agency, demand increased amid the upcoming increase in the recycling fee and the success of the domestic electric car AmberAuto A5.
Co-founder and head of Avtostat Sergey Tselikov noted that October was the best month for electric car sales since April 2024.
Experts explain the growing interest in electric vehicles by two main factors - the upcoming changes in the calculation of the recycling fee, which may increase the cost of cars, as well as the popularity of the domestic AmberAuto A5 model with a good range.
The AmberAuto A5 model took first place in sales among electric vehicles in October - a total of 358 units were sold.
At the end of the ten months of 2025, 9,600 electric vehicles were registered in Russia - 37% less than in the same period of 2024.
