The most profitable cars to import to Russia remain those with economical engines, moderate maintenance costs and affordable spare parts. This was stated by Andrey Osipov, Commercial Director of Interleasing Group, assessing the current situation in the parallel import market.
According to him, when choosing a car for import, the key factors are fuel consumption, design reliability and developed service infrastructure.
Among the most balanced options, Osipov singled out the Mazda 3. This is a compact sedan with a two-liter engine with a capacity of less than 160 hp.
The model is characterized by predictable maintenance costs and wide availability of spare parts, which makes it convenient for everyday operation in Russian cities.
The expert also noted the Mazda CX-5. According to his estimates, the basic version of the crossover can be imported at a price of 2.7–2.8 million rubles, while the amount already includes the recycling fee and logistics. In the same price range, as Osipov clarified, are Skoda Octavia and Skoda Karoq, which remain in demand due to reliable power units and a clear design.
Kia Seltos is also included in the list of cars profitable for import. For about 2 million rubles, the buyer can get a crossover with modern equipment, including a multimedia system, climate control, keyless entry and a digital instrument panel. Osipov emphasized that the Seltos version with a two-liter engine with a capacity of 148 hp has a relatively low recycling fee.
In addition, the expert called the Hyundai Elantra a promising option for import, noting its balanced ratio of price, equipment and operating costs.
