Russian "Valdai 45" allowed to carry dangerous goods

The Russian Valdai 45 truck tractor has been approved for the carriage of dangerous goods. The series now includes a special version that meets the requirements of ADR.

This refers to the transportation of gases and flammable liquids, which gives the model access to one of the most complex and profitable segments of road transport.

This tractor differs from the standard version in its enhanced set of safety systems. The engine compartment is equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system, additional fire extinguishers, a remote battery switch and a speed limiter.

To control the movement and actions of the driver, the Valdai 45 is equipped with satellite monitoring, a special tachograph and a video surveillance system of four cameras. Two monitor the traffic situation and the cab, two more provide a view of the rear hemisphere, and the recording is stored on a hard drive or flash drive.

Visually, the tractor for dangerous goods stands out with flashing beacons and warning signs, and the driver receives a set of personal protective equipment - from respirators to emergency lights and reflective vests.

At the same time, the technology remained the same - a 470-horsepower diesel engine works in tandem with an automated 12-speed transmission. This is an important signal for the Russian market - the Valdai 45 is starting to compete for transportation, where imported tractors used to dominate.
