The BAW 212 T01 SUV has become cheaper in Russia by 800 thousand rubles after adapting the power unit to the requirements of the recycling fee. The company reduced the power of the diesel engine and revised the price of the model.
The diesel engine was detuned from 170 to 156 hp. The changes were made by software adjustment. After that, the price of the BAW 212 T01 decreased from 4.4 million to 3.6 million rubles.
The reduction in power made it possible to reduce overall costs and make the SUV more accessible to buyers.
Despite the changes, the diesel unit is still designed for harsh operating conditions — off-road, long runs and professional tasks. The BAW 212 T01 is equipped with a 2-liter turbodiesel paired with a ZF automatic transmission, has a downshift and locks. The design is frame-based.
The model received a factory Russification of the interface and a package of winter options. BAW emphasized that the reduction in power did not affect the vehicle's cross-country ability and application.
