Chery recalls Jaecoo J7 and Tiggo 7 crossovers

The reason was a wiring defect that could lead to engine stalling

Chery has initiated a recall campaign in the Chinese market for Jaecoo J7 and Tiggo 7 crossovers. The reason was a possible manufacturing defect, which in some cases can lead to engine stalling while driving. The action plan has been officially approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation of China.

The problem is related to a potential error during vehicle assembly. On some cars, the wiring harness connected to the electronic engine control unit may not have been securely fixed. During operation, this can lead to chafing of the wiring and, as a result, to a sudden engine shutdown.

Approximately 1.1 thousand Chery Tansuo 06 and Tiggo 7 1.6T vehicles manufactured between April 1 and December 8, 2025, are subject to the recall. The Tansuo 06 model is sold under the Jaecoo J7 brand in export markets, and the Tiggo 7 1.6T is represented in the Tiggo 7 Sport and Tiggo 7 Plus versions.

As part of the campaign, Chery will conduct a free diagnosis of all affected vehicles. If incorrect installation of the mounting clip or wiring damage is detected, the defective elements will be repaired or replaced at the manufacturer's expense. Owners will be notified through official dealers.
