The Lada Azimut crossover has passed tests for compliance with the Euro-6 standard as part of the preparation for obtaining Vehicle Type Approval.
The tests were carried out in the process of preparing the model for certification. Checks were carried out both at positive and negative temperatures in a climate chamber.
Tests and refinement of the engine toxicity reduction system were carried out on the AvtoVAZ Scientific and Technical Center stand. The complex includes a dynamometric stand that simulates a driving cycle taking into account the characteristics of the car, as well as a climate chamber with a temperature range from −30 to +30 degrees and humidity control. The gas analysis system recorded the level of exhaust toxicity and the content of suspended particles.
Lada Azimut versions with modernized engines passed the tests. At the start of production, the model will receive naturally aspirated engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters. They will be combined with a mechanical and automatic transmission.
The Euro-6 standard has not been introduced in Russia, although it was previously considered. Despite this, AvtoVAZ incorporates the requirements of the standard into new models. In the case of Lada Azimut, the company is acting ahead of the curve: if Euro-6 is introduced, the manufacturer will already have ready-made cars.
