Rolls-Royce Celebrated the Anniversary of Three EX Concepts at Once in 2026

Prototypes that led to the creation of Spectre and key technologies of the brand

Rolls-Royce celebrated the anniversaries of three EX series concepts introduced after the brand came under BMW management in 2003. These models influenced key technologies, including the Starlight Headliner and the Rolls-Royce Spectre electric coupe.

The first was the Rolls-Royce 101EX, shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006. The coupe, based on the Phantom VII, received a new design and for the first time introduced a headliner with light points, which later became a signature feature of the brand.

In 2011, the Rolls-Royce 102EX, the brand's first electric car, debuted. It allowed the collection of data on alternative power plants and became the basis for the development of Spectre.

The third concept was the Rolls-Royce 103EX with autonomous control. The model stood out with a glass Spirit of Ecstasy figurine and a Grand Sanctuary interior with the Eleanor digital assistant.

The company uses EX concepts as a platform for experiments. Their developments later transition into production models.
