GT3 RS showed 6:45 at the Nürburgring

Porsche with the Manthey package improved the lap time thanks to aerodynamics and refinements

Porsche has improved the lap time of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS at the Nürburgring to 6:45.389 thanks to the Manthey package. The driver was racer Jörg Bergmeister. The result was almost four seconds faster than the standard version of the model. The difference is small, but on a track of this level, every second counts.

The Manthey package noticeably enhances aerodynamics. It includes a new front splitter, modified Gurney elements, an enlarged rear wing, canards, roof fins, and an extended diffuser. Carbon aero discs are also used to reduce drag. As a result, downforce has increased by 20% without increasing drag.

According to Porsche, the upgrades allow certain sections of the track to be taken at full throttle, including the section between Pflanzgarten II and Schwalbenschwanz. Ordinary road cars are not capable of moving there in this mode.

Additionally, the car received upgraded brakes and semi-active suspension. The test car was equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. The lap time brought the model closer to the result of the Ford Mustang GTD, which previously showed 6:40.835.
