BYD Sells Limited Edition Supercar for Millions, Only 30 Units Produced

The Yangwang U9 Xtreme became the brand's most expensive car: the price exceeded 220 million rubles

BYD confirmed that the electric supercar Yangwang U9 Xtreme was sold at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 for over 20 million yuan, becoming the most expensive deal at the event. The model is limited to 30 units, and at least one car was handed over to a customer directly at the exhibition, with the keys presented by BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu. According to PR Director Li Yunfei, this is the highest price tag among all sales at the auto show.

The Yangwang U9 Xtreme became BYD's most expensive production car. This price is justified by outstanding characteristics: power exceeds 3000 hp, a 1200-volt architecture, and DiSus-X active suspension are used. The model is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes.

Previously, the company stated that the U9 Xtreme recorded a lap time of 6:59.157 at the Nürburgring, becoming one of the leaders among production electric vehicles. The car also set records on tracks in Zhuzhou, Zhuhai, Chengdu, and Shanghai.

Yangwang remains a niche direction for BYD, focusing on small volumes and high prices. According to China EV DataTracker, the brand's sales in China reached 945 vehicles in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 80.3% year-on-year.
