A new ambitious player has emerged in the hypercar market. The Dutch startup Sanrivatti announced the development of a car with a fundamentally different architecture, where everything is built around the driver's position, rather than the chassis or powertrain.
According to the company's founder, automotive engineer Santiago Sanchez Rivero, the future hypercar should provide "the most driver-centric driving experience in the world."
The main feature of the project is an unusual seating position. Instead of a traditional seat, the driver is positioned almost in the center of the car in an elongated position, resembling the posture of a sport motorcycle rider. The developers believe that this layout will enhance the sense of connection between human and machine.
Sanrivatti claims that when creating the car, engineers first design the human body's position, balance, movements, and interaction with controls. Only after that are the other structural elements developed.
So far, the company has only shown schematic images of the future hypercar, without revealing technical specifications, powertrain, or timelines for a full-fledged prototype.
However, the idea itself is far from new. In 2014, Chevrolet introduced the Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept for the eponymous game series. In it, the driver was also in a nearly horizontal, face-down position, and control was supposed to be achieved through body movements. However, that project remained an experiment and was never considered for mass production.

That's why Sanrivatti's statements evoke both interest and skepticism. If such a scheme truly provided significant advantages, it would likely have already been adopted by major automakers. Especially since in modern motorsport and supercars, issues of ergonomics and weight distribution have long been studied in detail.
Nevertheless, the concept itself looks unusual. If the Dutch startup succeeds in realizing its ideas in a working car, the hypercar market could receive one of the most unconventional developments in recent years.
For now, Sanrivatti remains a company with big promises and minimal technical details. The developers promise to reveal new project details in the coming months.
