Toyota has unveiled the updated 2027 model year Sequoia. The most notable new feature is the Trailhunter package, which is available for this full-size SUV for the first time. Previously, this trim was only available for the Tacoma, 4Runner, and the recently updated Tundra.

The Trailhunter package is based on the SR5 trim and is aimed at expedition and serious off-road enthusiasts. It includes an upgraded Old Man Emu suspension, Michelin LTX Trail all-terrain tires, 18-inch bronze wheels, reinforced underbody protection, tow hooks, a rear differential lock, as well as Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems that help overcome difficult sections without driver intervention in traction control.

Equally significant changes have been made to the interior. All Sequoia versions now come standard with a 14-inch touchscreen multimedia system. The new Toyota Audio Multimedia complex supports AT&T 5G connectivity, customizable widgets, improved voice control, a digital key, and a built-in dashcam.

The Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 suite of electronic assistants has also been updated. The manufacturer claims more modern hardware and improved object recognition, which should increase the effectiveness of collision avoidance systems.

The technical part remains unchanged. All Sequoia versions are still equipped with the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, which includes a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline V6 and an electric motor. The combined output is 437 hp and 790 Nm of torque.
