Subaru has unveiled the updated BRZ sports coupe in F version, which went on sale in Japan on July 30, 2026. The main changes concern the EyeSight active safety system and the manual transmission, while the powertrain remains unchanged.

The main novelty is the introduction of a three-camera version of EyeSight for cars with a six-speed manual transmission. Engineers added a wide-angle monocular camera to the traditional stereo camera, which allows the system to better recognize pedestrians and motorcyclists at low speeds, and also works more effectively at intersections. In addition, the accuracy of the adaptive cruise control has been improved.

The second important refinement concerns the manual transmission itself. Subaru has changed the design of the gear lever, using experience gained during participation in the Japanese Super Taikyu series. The manufacturer promises clearer and smoother gear changes, which should make driving even more precise.

The technical part remains the same. The coupe is equipped with a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-four engine with 235 hp and a maximum torque of 250 N·m (25.5 kg·m). Buyers still have the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, and the drive is only to the rear wheels.

Fuel consumption according to the WLTC cycle is 11.7–12.0 km/l depending on the trim level and transmission type.

The BRZ update almost coincides with the preparation of similar changes for the related Toyota GR86, an updated version of which is expected to be presented on August 6, 2026.
