Honda recorded record hybrid vehicle sales in the American market in July 2026. According to the company, buyers purchased 36,609 hybrids during the month, with the CR-V Hybrid crossover being the main growth driver. The surge in interest coincided with an increase in the average price of gasoline in the US, which exceeded $4 per gallon.
The most popular model for the brand remains the Honda CR-V. In July, crossover sales increased by 18.8% to 38,335 vehicles, with the hybrid version accounting for 54% of all model sales. CR-V Hybrid sales reached 20,710 units, an 18.4% increase compared to last year.
High demand was also observed for sedans. The Honda Accord gained 54.7%, surpassing the 20,000 units sold mark in a single month for the first time since 2019. The Civic increased sales by 20.7%, showing its best July result since 2021. Hybrid versions accounted for 41% of Accord sales and 32% of Civic sales.
The company also reported that the revived Prelude coupe has already exceeded its initial sales plan. In July, 354 vehicles were sold, bringing the model's cumulative sales since the beginning of the year to 2,077 units.
