Spania GTA is preparing a unique GTA Spano E&D, capable of becoming the first Spanish-developed car to exceed 400 km/h. For now, this is the project's goal — a confirmed run at such speed has not yet occurred.

For the car, a 7.9-liter Ilmor V10 gasoline engine with two turbochargers has been prepared. Depending on the settings, the engine management system provides three power modes: 900, 1,200, and 1,400 hp. For the fastest project, the company limits the torque to 1,200 N·m.

With a dry weight of only 1,100 kg, the car has more than 1 hp per kilogram even in 1,200 hp mode. The chassis is made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and honeycomb filler, and the body also uses composite materials.

To achieve extreme speed, the developers changed not only the engine. The GTA Spano E&D received active aerodynamics, Brembo/AP Racing racing brakes, a Bosch Motorsport ABS system, Michelin Slick tires, and an eight-speed Tremec dual-clutch transmission. The car does not meet European road homologation requirements and is being created as a unique special edition.

The project has a historical parallel. In 1953, the Spanish Pegaso Z-102 reached 244 km/h — a result that Spania GTA calls an important part of the country's automotive heritage. Now the company is trying to almost double this figure.

If the 400 km/h run takes place, the result will not just be a demonstration of V10 power. At such speeds, aerodynamics, stability, tire performance, and the powertrain's ability to maintain the required power become key.
