A number of Chinese car brands may face the threat of leaving the Russian market due to low sales and the collapse of the dealer network. In the first half of 2025, more than ten brands sold less than 1.2 thousand cars each in the country - less than is necessary for profitability.
The situation is most critical for manufacturers whose sales do not exceed 200 cars. Automakers believe that this is the break-even point for the mass segment.
Among the brands with minimal volumes are BAW (40 cars in seven months), HiPhi, Venucia, Skywell, Lotus, Yangwang and Nio (from 14 to 35 cars since the beginning of the year).
Rolf added that a successful sale for a particular showroom is the sale of 70-80 cars per month, and with a volume of 40-50 units, the company operates "at zero".
