Former head of AvtoVAZ, Bo Andersson, compared the first general director of the domestic manufacturer, Viktor Polyakov, to the American industrialist Henry Ford, who founded the Ford company.
He admitted that he admires Polyakov as a person who, in essence, built the plant.
In terms of personality scale, in my opinion, he stands in the same rank as such giants of the automotive industry as Henry Ford.
Viktor Polyakov headed the Volga Automobile Plant (AvtoVAZ) from 1966 to 1975. He oversaw the construction and launch of the plant, and after leaving his post, he worked in the analytical center until the end of his life, providing assistance to the plant.
Earlier, motoram.ru reported that AvtoVAZ plans to introduce a four-day work week from September 29 to March 28, 2026, due to the situation on the market.
